I'm 18 old male dating a 16 old female who is about to turn 17 within the next month I want to know is illegal for me to be dating her and if i could go to jail for it
Dating is not illegal. Sex or any sort of sexual touching could send you to jail. It really depends on the State, since laws vary greatly. This site has a chart of ages of consent for various States:

However, I recommend looking up the actual law before actualy relying on the information. You don't want to go to jail as a sexual predator because of a typo on some random web site.
