Sorry this is a really embarrassing and naive question so I didn`t want to ask someone face-to-face.
I`m 16 for a start and I was watching TV with this guy I really like and eventually we ended up cuddling up and he was feeling me all over so I started to explore his body as well. I didn`t upbutton his trousers but was just feeling him from ontop of his trousers and his dick was down the side of his leg, what I want to know is do you think it would have been erect? I have never touched a penis before, so I have no idea?? The fact that he was touching my breasts under my bra and feeling me `down below` as well, would this have given him an erect penis?
Sorry, I know this is a really stupid question, I just want to know what it takes for a guy to get an erect penis.

First off, your question wasn't stupid, it was a good one. The average male penis is about 6 inches long when erect. This varies depending on a number of factors, mainly body size. Usually the bigger the guy, the bigger the penis. You should know though that a penis looks bigger inside his pants becaues of all the extra padding from the pants and underwear.
If he penis was down the side of his leg while he was feeling you up it is likely that he had at least a partial erection. Most men, especially younger men will normally have and keep an erection whenever they are being intimate with a woman.
Remember, if things start getting 'really' intimate, have a condom on hand just in case.
