AboutTom Expertise While it is a huge topic, I am well-versed in World War II generally. There is a huge wealth of information available on the internet, HOWEVER, one has to know the trash from the gems. Many sites which are not obviously credible (govt, university, and museum sites, for ex.), provide erroneous information (intentionally or otherwise).

I want to write an article about the possible analogies between the lives of Hungary's Horthy and Finland's Mannerheim.
There's quite a a lot of information about Mannerheim but I found nothing about Horthy, except for one Russian article on the net.
Can you point me to a good book about the life and conduct of Horthy? Also, I'd appreciate if you could tell me where I can find this book:
Sakmyster's "Hungary’s admiral on horseback : Miklós Horthy, 1918-1944"
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan.
Answer This is an excellent idea! I have never read of a comparison or an article that spoke to the two, but in fact that is a great idea worth considering. You should also consider - not to make this more complex - the other 'lesser' axis power leadership - Croatia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, even Vichy France.
Off hand I have little to offer you, but do know that I have run across material on Horthy. Problem is, as you have found, there isn't a lot about him on the net, or in the main history books. He is mentioned (as is Hungary generally) as a passing item. The coup in 1944 is a topic covered (German kidnapping his son, etc.), but usually only in a paragraph or two. Let me get back to you on that.
But for the book - if you are unaware, I refer you to abebooks.com. It is a worldwide network of bookstores - you know, mom-and-pop small used booksellers. I found two Hungary in WW2 books by searching just for the authors name:
Hungary, the Great Powers, and the Danubian Crisis, 1936-1939 (ISBN: 0820304697)
Miklos Horthy (ISBN: 9783902494146)
Thomas Sakmyster
Unfortunately, these books are not cheap.
I'll see if I can find anything more and get back to you.
