About Tom
Expertise
While it is a huge topic, I am well-versed in World War II generally. There is a huge wealth of information available on the internet, HOWEVER, one has to know the trash from the gems. Many sites which are not obviously credible (govt, university, and museum sites, for ex.), provide erroneous information (intentionally or otherwise).

Experience
BA in history, and been reading and studying WW2 as my 'hobby' for 30 years. Regular contributor to several online forums in military history, WW2, and related areas and topics.

Organizations
None relevant to this topic.

Education/Credentials
BA, History (Secondary Education), with minor in Geography
US Army Engineer Officer (Officer Basic and Advanced Courses)

Answer
Apparently you either have two IDs, or your classmate came to the same site for answers.

While officially the site doesn't have us do homework questions, I typically do.  Problem is that this is such a broad and detailed topic it could literally be the subject of 3 entire books.

So rather than repeat the answer, which I may have already sent to you under the other ID, I will merely list items to look up or consider in your answer:
Eastern Europe:
Fell to soviets at close of WW2
Communist regimes put in power from Estonia to Albania
They developed slowly under communist command economy.
Western Europe prospered, esp. with help of the Marshall Plan of economic assitance from US.
Then 1989-91 saw the collapse of the communist block, Warsaw pact and eventually the USSR itself.

Palestine/Israel:
End of WW2 saw Palestine as a British mandate (e.g., they controlled it), with a small Jewish minority amongst the Arab majority (mostly muslim).
Jews escaping the Holocaust tried to settle there, and eventually they established the nation of Israel.
During Cold War, Israel became a steadfast US ally, while much of Arab world - resenting Israel - became soviet allies.
Israelis prospered, but Palestinians suffered.  Two generations have grown up largely in refugee camps in Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan.  They remain without a nation (independent govt) of their own.

Indian subcontinent:
British colony at end of WW2, as it approached independence, the Muslims insisted on their own state (Pakistan) and so the two nations split (though many muslims remained inside India).
While India is poor still, it is rapidly growing in prosperity and remains the largest functioning democracy.
Pakistan remains a poor nation, and muslim.  East Pakistan (pakistan was two parts, East and West) rebelled and formed Bangladesh, and remains one of the poorest nations in the world today.

I hope that helps.  It is a very broad subject, so lots and lots could be written.
