i am looking at the impact of the US entry into ww1, including any field in which the us may have contributed (technologies etc)
any help would be greatly appreciated

Answer The U.S. entry into WW1 had a profound impact upon the war, and may have entirely influenced it's outcome. Technologically in the 19-teens the USA was not the technologically superior to nations in Europe. Germany itself had some of the brightest minds of the time, and would continue to into WWII. However the USA had something that many nations did not. Money.
The USA did not contribute many men in WWI (as compared to European nations) however it did fund a large portion of the war on the side of the Triple Entente (Great Britain, Russia, and France).
Also, when, in 1917 Russia dropped out of the war France and Great Britain were left to fight Germany on one front. This is the kind of fight that Germany could have won. However with the US's full entry into the war with Russia's withdrawal, the US economy kicked into full war production, and then was able to outproduce Germany, and therefore brought on the end of the war as we know it.
