20th Century History/Hitler Religion

Question
QUESTION: Do you know what Hitler's religion was? I heard some sources say he was Catholic, others say he was a member of the Protestant German Christian church, and still other accounts say he was pagan or atheist.  As a result, I am very confused. Can you give me an unbiased explanation of his views. Thanks

ANSWER: Adolf Hitler was  born on Sunday April 20th 1889 at 6pm in Braunau-am-Inn, a small village in Upper Austria,  part of the Austro-Hungarian empire of the Habsburgs. He was  baptized in the Catholic Church  two days later. He received for some time a religious education in a Catholic school but he was fired from this school for smoking when he was a teenager. He went for the most of his  young life  to secular schools but he did not finish his  classes and was a drop out at 15 years of age.
After that he never showed any interest for the religion until he was a Chancellor. During his years in Vienna, he was attracted to esoteric literature and Wagner's operas much more than to anything else. He was an avid reader and read a little   bit of everything and anything, developing his own ideas about everything. Basically he was self taught on any subject but he had a fantastic memory, quasi photographic and could recite full pages of what he had read. This characteristic drew a lot of people to think he had the mind of a genius and could talk about anything with a very serious knowledge. Actually he was an autodidactic man and had huge holes in his learning.
As for the religion and his relationship with the different Churches, I can only advise  you to read the chapter I have devoted to this problem by going to this  page of my site :

Once you have read it  I will be glad to reply to any follow  up question. Best regards, Michel Cahier

QUESTION: Thanks for your response. I've been to your site and drew the conclusion that although the churches supported him, Hitler himself planned to get rid of Christianity. I have heard that the founders of the Nazi party were occultists. Can Nazi Germany therefore be described as an occult regime?

Answer
yes  i think we can say that the Nazis were extremely influenced  by Occultism and Occult theories. When he was in Vienna before WW1 Hitler spent considerable time reading weird and occultist magazines like
Ostara.
Himmler notably was very open to pseudo scientific theories and the Nazi regime in general was not shameful about conducting experiences based on pseudo scientific and occultist theories. If you have the time to read one more chapter of my site, devoted to Himmler experiments, you will find out more what exactly this regime  was about. Please go to http://schikelgruber.net/ahnenerbe.html to find.  Please read also this page http://www.mystae.com/restricted/streams/masons/nazi.html

Expertise

I am a French amateur historian in German history between 1918 and 1945, particularly with regard to the Nazi era, Hitler's character and the occupation of Europe.

Experience

I have worked on the subject of Nazism since college and since I retired I developed a complete site with more than 60 chapters devoted to different aspects of the Nazi era. I have developed too a special interest in Nazi Art and the treatment of art by the Nazis. My site had about 2000 hits per week and is very well considered. I would be glad to help some people who have very precise questions about Hitler and the Nazis. My site can be consulted at http://schikelgruber.net/index.html. Needless to say that I am not a supporter of the Nazis and never in this site do I attempt to justify or excuse their policies.

Organizations
I used to work for the Agence France Presse, La Tribune, TV Channel France 3 and as the Editor of the Agence Economique et Financiere. I was in position in Brussels, London and Paris.

Publications
I published a book about the entrepreneurs and the motives for creating a company in the 80s and a book about the Franco-Swiss jeweller Philippe Charriol in the 90s

Education/Credentials
I graduated in Law and Political Sciences, I have a MBA from the Paris Chamber of commerce and I have a license of massage therapy (RMT) of the State of Texas
