2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Gun Law

Question
Hello Dan, I have done some searching and found similar questions to mine. I plead guilty to a 3rd degree drug felony when I was 18. It only carried a 250 dollar fine and 6 month probation. At the time it seemed like a slap on the wrist.

10 years later I am looking into hunting. I moved from New Jersey to Sacramento Ca. I want to purchase a fire arm but I am not sure if I can. To qualify for an NJ expungement I need to wait another 9 months.
I am wondering if there are any NRA lawyers, or gun law sites you can refer me to here in the Sacramento area so I can try and figure out my options.

Answer
Hi Jeff,

Thanks for asking me about this. The way I see it, if you have to wait 9 months before getting this felony expunged, then be sure to follow through on it. After that is cleared up, you should be ok to purchase a firearm.

As far as lawyers in Sacramento go I found this related article that may lead you in the right direction:

Good luck in your quest for gun ownership.
