2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Weapons

Question
I am an avid sportsman.  I plead to an E felony in NY State because I don't have the money for a long drawn out trial.  I served a few weekends in COUNTY jail and am on probation for 10 years.(9 to go). I was told that I could have my guns returned to me (long guns) because it is my right.   This may or may not be true, but I would like to know if it is within the realm of possibility?

Also, I "assume" I can still bow hunt, correct?

Answer
I have never heard of any courts returning any firearms after a felony conviction long or short especially in NY.  I know that if you have a felony conviction in some states you are allowed long guns for home and property protection it doesn't mean the state will return the ones they took from you at the time of conviction.

I'm not strong on Bows but I believe if you have a hunting license then you are allowed to hunt.  A bow is not a firearm so therefore it should not be restricted to felons.

Good Luck
