2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/C&R FFL Licenses

Question
If one applies and gets a C&R FFL license ($30.00/3 years) and decides to
purchase a suppresser/machine gun for instance, does the Federal Government
have the right to access your home at any time and search for those or any other
guns etc...?

Answer
Obtaining a C&R FFL would not give the federal government the right to access your home at any time or to conduct searches without a warrant.

The holder of a C&R FFL is not considered a dealer or manufacturer, and is not required to open his home to inspection, except in connection with a criminal investigation.

The same rules that apply to a dealer regarding ATF access to his place of business do not apply to C&R FFL holders. In fact, a C&R FFL holder does not even need to allow the ATF into his home if ATF requests an annual records review. Such an audit may be done at the local ATF office at the request of the licensee.
