2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/CCW permit and permit to purchase in NC

QuestionQUESTION: I need to know if my simple assault conviction from 8 years ago would prevent me from getting a CCW or a purchase permit here in NC? I pled "no contest" at the time not realizing how it could effect me later.
Thanks
ANSWER: You will not get a gun in the State of NC with any type of felony even with restoration of rights, you need a pardon or expungement in that state. They will allow a long gun in our house for protection only.

QUESTION: I am aware of that. A simple assault is a misdemeanor, not
a felony, but the laws are confusing. Example- a
misdemeanor conviction for domestic violence will
disqualify an individual from permit to purchase in NC.
However I don't know if a that applies to a non domestic
simple assault conviction. Do you know?
AnswerOK, If it's not a felony and not domestic then you are not banned from firearms. NC is a rough state when it comes to firearms won't you go to Viginia State Police website and get a Virginia non- resident permit first and when you receive it that will answer all your firearm questions. VA is one of the easiest states to get a firearm permit from and it's fast I received mine in 3 weeks. Plus it has Reciprocity with NC
GOOD LUCK
