Question
I was convicted of a 3rd degree misdemeanor 20 yrs ago in the state of MD for drug conspiracy offense while living in FL. I paid a fine and received 2 yrs unsupervised probation and have not received as much as a traffic ticket since. I now live in GA and am looking to acquire a handgun as I think I can qualify for that. Could you please advise on this and if qualified is a CCW permit also possible?
Thanks

Answer
All Felony convictions and misdemeanor convictions of domestic violence will band you from firearm posession until you receive full restoration of rights.

Therefore, According to Fedeal laws you are cleared to purchase firearms and you can qualify for a CCW.
