2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Lost of firearm right

Question
About a year ago my husband was hospitalized due to acute psychosis.  At the clinic the police officers intimidated me into giving them the guns and I did.  My husband’s therapist signed paperwork stating he could obtain his weapons back because he was no danger, but then was intimidated by the MD police department into retracting.  My husbands chose to not go to court and get his weapons back.  Could this incident have affected his firearm right?  If so, what can he do to restore his right?  We will soon be living in TX.

Answer
1. Never give anyone your weapons. If your husband was being treated for any type of mental illness yes he does lose his 2nd amendment right temporarily until cleared by a doctor.  You could have your weapons sold on consignment at a gun shop or just pawn them, this way you won't be at a lose. The note clearing your husband sould be enough get a second notice from a doctor in Texas when you move there to be sure.
