Question
I was convicted for Poss of a Forged Check back in 1988 'Family related'. My only conviction ever, I love to hunt and want a firearm in my home for safety. Can I ever get my rights back and if so what do I need to do? I live in Texas

Answer
You have to apply for Texas full restoration of rights.  You may have to go back to the courts or Probation Dept. to request an application.  Some states have Executive Clemency Boards.  You may be able to do a search and pull up an application.
