QuestionHi Dan, I am a retired NYS Correction Officer and have a Cocealed Carry Permit. My question is, I want to carry in S. Carolina, I visit frequently. I drive to SC and would like to be able carry all the way there, if possible. Is there a state I could apply for a carry permit that would enable me to do this? Thanks denny
AnswerThis is very easy for you. All you need is a Virginia non-resident Permit. Do a search for Virginia State Police and the details to their non-resident permit will be on that website, They have reciprocity with SC. You can also send a copy of your NYS Permit with your application for a PA CCW it's only $26. You may also apply for a Florida or Utah non-resident permit they both have reciprocity in about 30 states. You will have to take the Utah CCW course which you can take in a lot of different states. Your Corrections Academy Certificate will be good for VA or FL. Connecticut, Mass, and New Hampshire all have non-resident permits also.
Good Luck
