2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/restoration of rights to bear arms in florida
Expert: n/a - 11/12/2008
QuestionQUESTION: I have applied for civil rights restoration, they said it's being processed. Upon completion doe this mean i can bear arms? If not how do i get that right back. I live in a pretty rough neighborhood as a matter of fact i saw some juveniles yesterday in the street with a shotgun.
ANSWER: You have to wait for their decision, right now you have lost your firearm rights and can only restore it with a full restoration of rights. They may give your restoration of righs but they can restict you from firearms if they choose to. Florida requires a seperate application for fiearms restoraton I hope you filled out the correct one. Their process is very long and they will start all over if you didn't fill out the correct application.
GOOD LUCK

QUESTION: There was no form, I contacted the clemency office via e-mail and they replied. The process started 4/17/07. At this point they are reviewing '06 requests. The office states my civil rights should be restored no later then this time next year. Can you direct me to the proper form for the firearm part?
AnswerYou need to call them, they can either direct you or mail you the firearm restoration application.
good luck
Listen Adam, I understand your frustration but you have to deal with the Clemency Board. Nobody is going to give you the answer you want to hear only the truth. You can't have a firearm legally before you have full restoration of rights. If you did not fill out the correct application you are going to have a firearm restriction on your certificate when you finally receive it. Giving me a 1 on knowledge is your opinion I understand but if you call a Lawyer and pay the $250 consultation fee you will get the same answer.
