2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Ability to own and possess a firearm

Question
I had a federal felony conviction, and was sentenced to 5 years probation, which ended in 1991. All of my rights were reinstated with the exception of the right to own, possess, or transport a firearm. I applied to the state of Florida Board of Executive Clemency and was told that I needed a federal pardon. I contacted the N.R.A. and was told I need a presidential pardon. How can I legally purchase a firearm?

Answer
Raul,

Thanks for asking me about this matter. Based on what you have said, the only way for you to legally purchase a firearm is to get pardoned so that you may own, possess or transport a firearm. It is unfortunate that all of your rights were not reinstated.
