2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Misdemeanor conviction

Question
Hello,  I have a Class A misdemeanor in Indiana, but it has some qualifications.  25 years ago I was originally convicted of a Class D Felony for theft, but about 5 years later I received a modification from the state changing the conviction to Theft as a Class A misdemeanor retroactive to the date of the original conviction, so essentially, the felony never happened.  My question is whether or not I can legally own firearms, and if I can get a concealed carry permit.

Thanks,

Answer
If you have the paperwork to prove it was reduced to a misdemeanor yes you would be cleared to purchase firearms. You would need a firearm permit first because of your former conviction.  hat would be the only way to pass the NICS check without having to appeal it after denial.

Good Luck
