Question
Hi In 1990 I was in a 1 vehicle car accident and a Friend of mine died as a result of the crash. I plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter and served time in jail. Since then I haven't the slightest infraction with the law. What can I do to be able to purchase and use firearms to take my sons hunting? Thanks so much for your help. All This happened in Montgomery County Maryland.

Answer
If you are talking about getting a firearm in MD after a felony manslaughter, I would not hold my breath.  MD has some of the most strict firearm laws in this Country.  Similiar to New York and New Jersey.

You can apply for restoration of rights with the courts but it will be difficult to get your firearm restriction lifted. Certain crimes are prohibited from restoration of firearm rights and I do beleive manslaughter is one of them.

Good Luck
