QUESTION: I was convicted of conspiracy to transport firearms in 2001.Sentanced to a year and a day in a  min. security fci.No violence in history or charge.All fines and 2 years of probation finished. I was wondering what my chances of gun rights restoration is? My felony was a class e.

QUESTION: My conviction was federal.

Answer
Although there is a provision in federal law for a "relief from disability" which would restore your gun rights, since October 1992 Congress has specifically prohibited ATF from expending any funds to investigate or act upon applications for relief from federal firearm disabilities. I therefore do not believe that you can get your rights restored, but I urge you to check on this directly with ATF at this address:
