Question
I was recently let  go from a company in Elkhart In. They have a company policy of keeping inapropriate weapons off of company property. I have a ccw permit from the state of Indiana. I can understand ILLEGAL weapons and safety. But does a company have the right to suspend my 2nd amend right as soon  as i go on company property. I was in possesion of personnel protection kept in my office/P.O.V. Hum.resources along with supervisors and security all knew I carried for over 2yrs.

Answer
Scott,

Thanks for asking me about this matter. Unfortunately, whether or not you have a CCW, or if anyone knows that you carry, the workplace has the right to set the rules for their business.

It seems a bit odd that you carried for two years without anyone from the company saying anything.

I have worked in top security companies where firearms where strictly forbidden at work. I worked for one company that said it was ok to have one in your car, but that was it.

I recommend reading your former company policy manual. If carrying weapons is forbidden in there, you can bet a court will uphold their right to ban weapons.

Good luck and if I can be of further help please let me know.
