I was convicted of the degree assault a {domestic violence} a couple of times approve. 10 and 12 years ago. in two different states one of which I live in now and I would like to know what I have to do and who I have to contact to get my right to bear arms reinstated

You will have to apply for restoration of rights in both states and after approved you will then be able to apply for a firearm permit.  Restoration of Rights are usually handled by the Dept. of Parole or an Executive Clemency Board.  Every State is different.
