Question
I was convicted on a 3rd degree (theft) felony in 2003, placed on 3 years probation, accessed a fine, and community service,  all of which was completed in 14 months, released from probation at that time.  Must I wait until the felony is removed, reduced to a misdemeanor or can I ever get back my rights to own a weapon?

Answer
Felonies are not just removed or reduced to misdemeanors, you must apply for expungement or a pardon in order for them to be removed if you are qualified and approved.  You can apply for restoration of rights with no restriction on firearm ownership in the state you were convicted in.
