Question
I plead guilty to a felony possession when I was 17 in Chicago IL.  I was tried as an adult and got 2 yrs probation.  I know live in Florida and would like to have my civil rights restored including carrying a firearm.  How can I go about doing that?

Answer
You will have to get your firearm rights back in Illinois that is the state you were convicted in.  You can have your regular rights restored in Florida but they will put a firearm restriction on your certificate.  You can get an application online at Florida Executive Clemency Board.  You will have to do a google search for Illinoise restoration of rights or call your former Probation Officer for more information.
