2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Upstate NY pistol permits

Question
I want to apply for a CCW in upstate NY. 25 plus years ago I was arrested twice for simple disorderly conduct (yelling and disturbing the peace). Paid small fines and was also arreted in 1980 for a DWAI. No problems since then. Can and will these offenses jeopardize my pursuit.

Answer
They don't jeapordize you as far as the Federal Government is concerned but NYS is a may issue State, that means they can pick and choose who they give a firearm permit to.  I'm assuming that these offenses are not felonies.  You must have the dispositions for each offense in order to qualify for the permit.

Good Luck
