2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/domestic violence

QuestionQUESTION: i was arrested in 2003 for domestic violence while i was active duty air force in north dakota. i wouldn't give the keys to a car to my very drunk girlfriend. she got mad and slapped me and broke some stuff. i ended up calling the cops. we both got arrested even though i never hit her and she admits i never did. the cops advised me to plead guilty and would be easier, cheaper, and faster. i had never been arrested before, was scared of what was going to happen to me in the air force, and had no idea what i was pleading guilty to. i did plead guilty. there was no punishment throught the air force. about six months after it happened i got a lawyer and we applied to withdraw my plea. they agreed to withdraw it if i would plead guilty to disorderly conduct and my lawyer advised me to take the deal. Do i still have to right to carry a firearm and hunt? my domestic violence charge was ammended. thank you
ANSWER: If it is not on your records when they check the fingerprints card you can get a permit to carry concealed. When you have that you wont have to worry about failing the NICS check.
Good Luck

QUESTION: How do I find out if its on my fingerprints card? I'm not so worried about having a concealed weapons permit, just want to make sure i won't get in trouble if i get a gun. thank you.
AnswerYou have to check with the FBI to find out whats on your prints. A firearm permit is the only thing that will assure you won't get into trouble if you get a gun. Most people with any prior conviction even with restoration of rights always get turned down by the NICS check when they don't have a CCW.
