2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/reinstatement of right to bear arms

Question
I asked a question a few minutes ago about 2 felony convictions for reckless homicide.  I forgot to mention that the convictions were in the State of Illinois and I am a resident of Indiana.

Thanks,

Jack

Answer
You must get your restoration of rights from the state of Illinois not Indiana.  Because that is the state that convicted you so they are the only state that can attempt to restore your firearm rights. Other states that you reside can restore your rights with the exception of firearm rights.  Maybe you should apply for restoration of your rights in Indiana and if approved submit that with your Illinois application.  Thats if Indiana does out of state restoration of rights.
