Question
My boyfriends father left a gun with holster to him with this description on it, Waffenfabrik, Walther, Zella-Mehlis (thur.),
Walther's, patent cal. 7,65 m/m with this number 270731 K and an eagle stamp. Could you give us any information on it?  We don't know anything about it.
Thank you

Answer
Hi, Terry…

This is not the sort of question this topic is set up to handle, I'm afraid.

That said, it's possible that your boyfriend has a handgun that might be of some value to a collector, especially given your description of "an eagle stamp."

In general, it is a "minor caliber" Walther, likely a Polizeipistole Kriminellmodell, and produced in the late '30s at the Zella-Mehlis plant in Thuringia, Germany.

I would urge you to take some good quality images of the pistol, including marcos of the various markings, and submit them to an appraiser to see if there's greater interest in such a piece.

Take good care of it… it's ±80 years old.
