Question
QUESTION: I was convicted of procession when i was 20 Ayers old a felony
I have gone back to court had a Sec 1203.4 granted me. What do I need to do next to own a rifle in Calif ???

ANSWER: Hi, Darryl;

While you don't specify what exactly you were "possessing" that led to your Felony conviction, or how old you are now,it really doesn't matter since this is a Second Amendment topic, and yours is a Criminal Justice question.

More importantly, it's specific to California when you start tossing in things like "Sec 1203.4," so my suggestion is that you either consult with an attorney in that jurisdiction, or contact the State Police in Sacramento and see if they have some information that might be helpful to you.

Thanks for thinking of AllExperts, but next time think harder.

Answer
Golly, Darryl, while I applaud you for "learning your lesson" and keeping clean, how much more clear can I be that: "my suggestion is that you either consult with an attorney in that jurisdiction, or contact the State Police in Sacramento and see if they have some information that might be helpful to you."

I think 40 years on the straight and narrow should count for something. Give it a try.

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
