Question
i have a few firearms. i was convicted of  DV in Kansas 3 years ago.  do i need to have that expunged on a state and Federal level before i can buy, trade, or sell?

Answer
Hi Bob,

Thanks for asking. In DV convictions  the Federal & State laws usually don't allow persons to have guns. If you want to buy, trade & sell firearms then you need an FFL. This requires a FBI & NICS background check, and finger printing too.

I recommend seeking legal assistance to see how to remove that DV from your record. Expunging  may be one option as well as a pardon.

Best regards,
