i was arrested at 18 years old for 4.3 grams of marijuana and got it for a friend who set me up with cops anyways i am now 37 and would like a hunting rifle to hunt and trap shoot and a small personal protection handgun,much less would like to vote i am 37 now and never been arested previously or since and never will i am father of 3 and avivd church goer,only want to enjoy hunting with family and was mugged about a year ago woulod like piece of mind of a hand gun how can i do this i am law abiding tax paying adult now not that same stupid kid.any answers or suggestions?i live in florida

Thanks for asking about this matter. If you were charged with a felony at the age of 18, then it most likely will be difficult for you to purchase a gun. Federal law prohibits convicted felons from owning firearms.

I recommend seeking legal advice to see if you can be pardoned or have your felony expunged since you have made so many good lifestyle changes.
