Question
I was convicted of a non violent drug felony, I am done with parole and the judge said he would drop the felony down to a misdeamenor, only the charge went federal and I had to serve federal time. What are my options, if any, to have my firearm rights restored?

Ivan

Answer
Ivan,

Thanks for asking. If the felony was dropped down to a misdemeanor and it stayed that way, you have no problem. If the charges that went federal were felony and you served time for that charge, then Federal laws prohibit convicted felons from owning firearms.

I hope this helps.
