Question
I just received my pistol permit in Broome County on like August /19/2009.
I purchased a pistol in another state, had transferred to my county,I went and did the paper work.
I was told to go down to my permit office and get my coupon,I did when I went back to pick up my handgun they said It was delayed, the next morning they said I was denied,Even though my permit is new and I had coupon(card) with the gun added to my permit...Is this common? I haven't had no trouble since permit was issued nor before, after all if I was they wouldn't of issued my permit....
I almost feel like a criminal...Just wondering if this happens and is common?

Answer
Mark,

It seems to me that if you bought the pistol in another state, and they ran a background check on you, then you should be ok to pick it up in any other state. I would consider asking an attorney about this situation. I personally have not heard of anyone passing one background check not being able to pass another. Good luck.
