I got a felony for breaking and entering when i was 14. I tried to buy a shotgun when i was 23 and was denied, my father went and picked up the gun and i was told by the 800 # to try back when I turn 24 because that would be ten years on my crime. I haven't been arrested since i was 14 and I was spared adjudication
You are asking a Criminal Justice question in the Second Amendment topic.
You father probably committed a felony of his own in facilitating a straw purchase after you had been denied.
Who ever told you about "ten years" is not someone you should be listening to.

| Comment | my father had to write a letter stating that he would not relinquish the firearm to me under penalty of law and got it notarized so we did it the legal way and i haven't ever fired the gun nor ever had it in my possesion so i just want to do it by the book thanks for answering my question | ||
