I have served a 4 year term as an elected offical on the Montrose Colorado City Council, becoming Mayor in my 4th year. I am well versed on the US Constitution and firearm laws.

Question QUESTION: My friend has spent 6 months in regional jail on a felony conviction. While i know he cannot posess a firearm, will he be able to hunt small game with a pellet gun?

QUESTION: Great, now is there anywhere stating this on black and white that i can print this out? Also, can he use a crossbow and bow to hunt with?

Yes, an air gun is not a firearm. You can also buy muzzle loaders if it is not interchangeable. I contacted the A-nics (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) for this information.The FBI does the background check in most states. If it is interchangeable, then you can not purchase or possess it.

In addition Cindy, cross bows and regular bows are not firearms. Federal laws state that felons may not possess firearms. No background checks are conducted on air gun, bow or crossbow purchases.
You can use that as your guide.
