I just turned 21 and im wondering if i am able to obtain a gun license. When i was a juvenile i was ajudicated for unlawful use of a weapon. will this prevent me from recieving a fiod card. I am residing in the state of Illinois.

Terry, want a "private consultation?" Hire an attorney and pay his fee! We who serve here do so on a pro bono publico basis, and requesting that you be accorded preferential treatment is beyond the scope of what we do.

Additionally, yours is a Criminal Justice question, not a Second Amendment one, and should be asked of an attorney familiar with Illinois' gun laws who would be able to tell you whether your status as a juvenile at the time of the weapons offense can help you now that you are an adult.

It's a tricky matter.
