QUESTION: In 1985 I was convicted of simple assault and 4th degree criminal mischief.I work for a company that makes explosives(worked there for over a year now). The AT sent me a letter saying I am considered to be a risk. They asked for court records and finger print cards. Will these charges deny me the right to work with explosives ?

You don't say who "the AT" is or explain the relevance of the caption "Federal Permit," but it doesn't matter since this really isn't a Second Amendment question is it?

QUESTION: It is the ATF and I can not even get a permit to own a gun. I have to prove to the ATF that I am a not at risk person before I can purchase another handgun.

Answer
If ATF… actually now known as BATFE where the "E" portion stands of "Explosives," flagged your name simply on the basis of your employment for one of their Licensees, you need to take care of your record problem. It's not going to go away on its own.

As I said, consult an attorney.
