Question
I was 16 years old in N.Y. and convicted of a class e felony. Would I have been a juvenile? Can I possess a firearm? I am 47 years old still in N.Y. with no other convictions. Thanks

Answer
If you was convicted as a youthful offender you are not restricted from firearms, however some states say even though you are not restricted you must have a firearm permit in order to have a firearm because of the conviction and NY is one of those states.
