"Iam interested in becoming a protection officer.I would like to obtain a license in   newyork city on my own however I don't know which  license I would apply for! Is it a must I go through a security training school in order to receive my  fire arms license ?"


Answer
This is not a Second Amendment question, Courtney, #1, and, #2, I have no idea of what you mean by "a protection officer."

Schooling is always a good idea, but make sure that the school you are planning to attend, if a specialized vocational one, is going to provide you with no only the proper training, but one you complete their courses some sort of placement service as well.

And you should know that it's very difficult to obtain ANY sort of firearms (preferred spelling) license in New York City, and your present Mayor wants to make it harder.
