Question
Lets say hypothetically a person were to have been in a psychological institution or 2 until they were about 13 & was prescribed psychotropic medications until they were about 15, being as there are no felonies on their record & have not had an issue in the psych area of their life for about 7 years, would the aforementioned affect their ability to own a firearm when they are 22? I'm asking because researching online hasn't been much help. Please help.

Answer
Not to put too fine a point on this, Thomas, but let's say hypothetically that someone can read and comprehend reasonably well… then that person would not be posting a Criminal Justice (http://www.allexperts.com/cl2/711/News-Issues/Law-Enforcement/) or Health/Fitness (http://www.allexperts.com/cl1/7/Health-Fitness/) question in the Second Amendment topic.

For further clarification on this, recommend that your review a copy of an ATF Form 4473 (http://www.atf.gov/forms/4473/index.htm) and see how the questions are worded.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
