i am a avid hunter and also a recently released felon i am curious about what i can and cannot own i know that a felon used to be allowed to own black powder rifles but i have heard that the law was changed and now felons cannot own anything with a trigger that fires a projectile can you clarify for me what i cannot own or posses am i allowed to own a bow my quick release has a trigger?

As a felon you are not allowed to own any firearms that is a federal law. As far as bow's and knives each state has different regulations, like in NY you can't even have a knife as a convicted felon.  I know if it fires a projectile that would consider it unlawful to all convicted felons unless you had full restoration of rights.
