Question
in my past about 16 years ago i wrote a few bad checks never spent time in lail but did do 5 years of probation iam not sure of what i was charged with so i went to walmart to buy a 22 cal. rifle and filled out the 4377 form and was told there was a delay ,the next day walmart called me and said they called and i was denied now im worried that im in trouble for filling out the 4377 do you think i will get a visit from the police or the atf

Answer
Let's see... you kited some checks, must have gotten caught in order to have done any sort of probation, yet you come here and assert that you're "not sure of what i was charged?!?"

Now you've falsely filled out a Forum 4473, been nabbed again… this time by the FBI/NICS procedure… been denied, and now you're worried that they may come after your for filing a false instrument?

Have I got it right so far?

Well, Joe, you should be worried. ATF won't come after you, but someone else could. They're probably surrounding your home right now, with guns, dogs and a warrant for your arrest.

I advise you to contact your attorney right away and make full disclosure of what you have done and how stupid you've been… see if he can keep you out of prison by throwing yourself on the mercy of the court.

O, and why did you think this was appropriate for the Second Amendment topic?

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
