Question
QUESTION: i was convicted of a felon in 2004 (traffing cocain). i done 3 years in prison. been out 2 years today. how do i get my rights back to cary a gun so i can take my son hunting and protect my home. can i have a bow and arrow in my home. i live in NC. this is my only conviction. thanks lj

ANSWER: Sorry, once you have a felony in NC you are restricted from firearms for good.  Your only hope is if they change the laws in NC.  A bow is considered a weapon so I assume you are restricted from that also.

Go online google NC firearm laws.  There you can read for yourself.

QUESTION: is there any thing i can do or try

Answer
No, that is the law in North Carolina.  You can apply for a pardon but to let you know trafficking, selling and manufacturing any tye of drugs is put in the violent crime catagory which makes it much harder to receive a full pardon.  If you receive restoration of rights you can have a long gun in your home
