Question
I have minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge from 8 or 9 years ago that was basically a ticket that I paid a fine on. Will that prevent me from obtaining a ccw in ohio, and if it does, is there another state that offers non-resident ccw?

Answer
I can't tell you what decision Ohio will make on your CCW application that is at their discretion.  I can tell you that you are not restricted from firearms based on your misdemeanor offense.  Incase Ohio does not give you the permit Virginia has a great non-resident permit.  If you have not been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor (non-domestic) within 5 years you would definately receive their permit within a month. Virginia state Police website has a downloadable application just get an FBI fingerprint card done and any firearm class and you are good to go I beleive they have reciprocity with Ohio.  Florida has a non-resident permit just go to FL Dept. of Agriculture and request an application by mail they will also give you a non-resident permit.  Utah, Conn. also.

Good Luck
