QUESTION: In 96 I pled to a the degree misdoer involving a firearm..hand it expunged....old girlfriend entered my townhouse a 2am I took the firearm with me...she left ..thought that was that...a month later I am charged and told to plea to the charge of menosing or get a agg men charge..took the plea in decemeber of 08 had it expundged

Thanks for asking. If both those charges were expunged, you should have no problem purchasing a firearm. I recommend trying to and if you fail the background check then you may need legal help in clearing your  records.

QUESTION: I tried yesterday my future wife passed no problem...I was delayed why I asked....until my plea of a 4th degree misdomenor I had a clean record...never knew it was illegal to carry a firearm down the steps of my townhome a 2-3am when you hear crashing sounds....but in ohio anything is possible.

Ok if you tried and failed, then the 4th degree misdemeanor charge is the problem. I agree that it should not be illegal to carry a firearm in the early morning when you hear crashing sounds. Based on dumb Ohio laws, IMHO I would move from there.
