2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Pistol Permit in Connecticut

Question
17 years ago I got a felony for driving without a license  and a couple DWI which were misdemeanors. I got a CRD with box c checked and it says "to get pistol permit in Connecticut". I applied 7 years ago before I got the CRD and was approved by the Town but when I went to get the State permit they saw the felony and said I could not get a permit. If I re apply now with the CRD what are my chances?

Answer
Your chances are good because they wrote it on your certificate.  With box C checked if you would read the back they can still use your conviction against you and say no.  Also, CT is not a shall issue state so it's at their discretion.  But Virginia would give you a non-resident permit for sure.

Good Luck
