I was convicted of operating while intoxicated 2nd offense(Wisconsin) "an unclassified misdemeanor" in 2004. I am looking to buy a firearm, but I'm wondering, before I try to purchase, if this type of misdemeanor will prevent me from buying one.

Thanks for asking. This may prevent you from buying a firearm,if Wisconsin laws state that DUI type offense are prohibitive.

Federal laws state that felons may not own firearms and each state has laws for certain offenses that affect second amendment rights.

I recommend seeking legal assistance to see for sure.
