QUESTION: How do I go about applying to restoration and who do I contact? I spoke with an lawyer here in my town today and was told it is not possible for a convicted felon to ever get restoration of owning a firearm, is this true?
Thank you,
Mike
AnswerMike, tell that Lawyer to go back to Law School. He does not know laws. I don't know what state you live in but you have to either return to the Probation/Parole Dept. some states have executive clemency boards and others have Board of Pardons. Each state has a different process. You will have to find out what process your state uses. There are some states where you will not get firearm rights restored like NC, NJ, NY.
Good Luck
