QUESTION:   How do I go about applying to restoration and who do I contact? I spoke with an lawyer here in my town today and was told it is not possible for a convicted felon to ever get restoration of owning a firearm, is this true?

Thank you,

 Mike

Answer
Mike, tell that Lawyer to go back to Law School.  He does not know laws.  I don't know what state you live in but you have to either return to the Probation/Parole Dept. some states have executive clemency boards and others have Board of Pardons.  Each state has a different process.  You will have to find out what process your state uses.  There are some states where you will not get firearm rights restored like NC, NJ, NY.
