2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/IS MY GUN RIGHTS RESTORED?

Question
I WAS CONVICTED IN 1987 FOR BURGLARY AND I DID 2 YEARS IN PRISON. WHEN I WAS RELEASED I RECEIVED A DOCUMENT THAT STATES " MY NAME AND IS HEREBY DISCHARGED FROM PAROLE AND ANY ALL CIVIL RIGHTS HERETOFORE FORFEITED ARE RESTORED". DOES THAT MEAN MY GUN RIGHTS ALSO?

Answer
If it's a Certificate of Relief and it does not state you can't own, transport or possess a firearm then yes your firearm restrictions are lifted. See Federal Firearm code 18. U.S.C 921 (A). I don't know what state you live in but if you want to test your 2nd amendment right apply for a Virginia non-resident permit using your certificate
and see what happens.  If you need the carry concealed class just send me your e-mail address and I will send you the link for the 1 hour online course needed for a VA permit.  I know several people who has used their restoration of rights Certificate to obtain a VA CCW Permit including myself.

Good Luck
