Question
QUESTION: I was convicted of domestic assault when I was 17 charged as an adult first and only offense 4 years ago in virginia is there any way I can hold a handgun legally?

ANSWER: Where in this category does it even hint "Legal Advice Provided," Daniel?

This is a Second Amendment category, not a Criminal Justice one, #1, and, #2, you're in Canada, and I don't believe that they have anything like the Second Amendment.

Advice: consult an attorney about your situation, and go back to school and learn how to punctuate so that your written words are clearer.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I was just looking for advice my friend. I'm not in canada nor have I ever been in canada. Two I'm texting on a cell phone and punctuation is the least of my worries. If you didn't know how to answer it that's all u had to say. Next time give advice. Don't critasize people cause you have a lousy life. I wouldn't call you an expert considering the fact you make info up. I bet your an old man sitting at the computer cause he has no life. Hope you feel better:).

Answer
#1: You identified yourself as "Country:  Canada." Did you intentionally lie or can't you see what you're doing on a cell 'phone screen?

#2: Again, the "Category" is "2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms," not Criminal Justice.

#3: Whether I'm considered an Expert or not by you, I know how to read.

#4: I feel fine, but of course, everyone can feel better, thanks.

Back to your original question now that you've taken "Canada" out of the mix.

To "hold" is to possess. As a convicted felon without a Certificate of Relief from Disabilities, having a handgun in your possession would put you at risk of another conviction.

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
