2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Military Firearm ownership

Question
I am currently 17, will be 18 in June. I will likely be
going through army basic training this summer. I live in NC
and need to be 21 to get Concealed Carry License, a
requirement for NC handgun ownership. If I am in the
military will I still be subject to NC laws?

Answer
Yes you would be.  Being in the Military does not give you any special privileges with firearm ownership and permits.  You can have a firearm now under Military codes and on duty only.  You would not be able to purchase or apply for a firearm permit until you are 21.
